what is child abuse?
Child abuse can be characterized as when physical/emotional harm (either by sexual abuse, physical damage, or by neglect) is done to a child by an elder member of the family.
why is this a social issue?
This is a social issue because child abuse happens everyday on a global scale and it's caused by many reasons such as economic standards in the house, religious practices, and social stress.
Who does it affect and how? how many people does this affect?
This issue affects all of the children in the world and according to statistics, every year there are almost 6 million children in reported cases of child abuse. With children being affected by child abuse, the child can grow to be affiliated with at least one disability, or mental and or emotional stress.
why do teens have to know about this problem?
Like many different social issues, the more the public is aware of the problem, the more likely it is to get close to stopping the problem itself. With more awareness spread about this problem, more solutions are bound to be created to stop it.
